Lars Jakob Rudjord
NORWEGIAN PIANIST & COMPOSER
In a small coastal town almost as far south you can get in Norway, Lars Jakob Rudjord creates instrumental music that takes you to places you’ve never been before. Behind his pianos, organs, synthesizers and old vintage keyboards, he crafts melodic, meditative, personal, comforting and often nature-inspired songs that have touched listeners all over the world.
Though often compared to the likes of Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds or Joep Beving, Lars Jakob Rudjord has most certainly established his very own sound in the modern classical world. His melodies are just as well inspired by classical music, as by Norwegian folk music and Nordic folklore. Although they are all instrumental, his songs are always about something particular, wether it be his 50s wooden boat, the old lighthouse nearby, contemplating about the vast starry sky, or the pulsating vibe of visiting Rome or New York.
He has three studio albums under his belt: Clockwork (2013), Indiepiano (2016) and Let Tomorrow Be Better (2020), as well as a number of singles and EPs. The fall of 2020 he also makes his debut as a score composer, for the Norwegian true crime “Therese - jenta som forsvant”.
